8th Grade Challenge and Independent Projects

Open House: Tuesday, January 29th @ 6:30 pm

Swifties are revising first drafts with a focus on citing facts and paragraph organization.  They have started working on visuals, most commonly trifolds or electronic slideshows with accompanying models, in preparation for sharing with families at the Open House.

Important notes:

  • Student attendance required at Open House
  • Final Drafts of Reports and Visuals Thursday, January 24th
  • Students are asked to present to at least five adults at the Open House.  They are excited to share their work with you!

The Flu

We are seeing flu activity here at WCS.  The nurse sent some reminders to help keep folks well:
  • Encourage washing hands with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching mouth, eyes, or nose.
  • Students and staff should stay home if they are sick.
  • Encourage students not to share food or drinks.
  • Encourage any unvaccinated staff to get vaccinated.
  • Recommend that students and their families get vaccinated.
