Our Amazing 8th Graders

Please enjoy this video featuring our 8th graders over the past four years, through many theater festivals, camp outs, field trips and class activities.  The video is "Unlisted" and is only posted temporarily, so please take a minute (or 19) to check it out.

End of Year Events

We wrapped up our year with the 8th Grade Challenge Community Presentations, an Open House and a picnic Sand Bar State Park.  We are so impressed with the hard work and positive spirit of your fantastic children.  Thank you for all of the support this year and have a wonderful summer!

We will send home a summer mailing in July with core groups and materials lists.  Until then, have a lovely summer and save the date for our campout on September 6th through 7th at Grand Isle State Park.

NYC

Swift students had a fantastic experience in NYC.  Eighth graders interviewed professionals in the field regarding their 8th grade challenge projects.  All students visited a site related to their spring Independent Project.  We look forward to seeing more photos and hearing their stories next week.

Home Team

The Home Team explored electricity through hands-on experiences thanks to materials from the Vermont Energy Education Program, Green Mountain Power, and Burlington Electric.

A special shout out to Ken Couture, Swift parent and Green Mountain Power engineer, for teaching about the many sources of electricity in Vermont!

Also, congratulations to our windmill engineering competition winners.  For fastest time in pumping 100 ml of water with their windmills: Nate C, Patrick and Aidan C.  For most volts produced: Maeve, Nate M and Gianna.
