Swift Independent Projects Open House
Monday, February 1st @ 6:30
Come listen to our students share what they have learned on Monday evening. All Swift students will have their Independent or 8th Grade Challenge project set up and will be ready to share on Monday night. Topics range from geography to sport fitness, and from natural disasters to D-Day. Each student has a visual-- either electronic or paper-- and a report to share. We ask that students present their projects to at least five adults over the course of the evening. After you hear about your own child's learning, please visit other students so they can present to you as well. They will probably ask you to complete a "Feedback Form." These young people truly light up when you all become their audience. Enjoy!
Sexting Presentations
Thursday, Jan 28th @ 6:00
There are two important presentations taking place this week. We encourage all middle-school parents to attend the evening presentation (see below). All 7th and 8th grade students will hear this presentation during school on Thursday afternoon.
CVU 8th Grade Parent and Student Info Night
Wednesday, January 27th @ 6:30
Learn more about life at CVU during this evening parent/student information night.Student-Led Literature Groups
Seventh and eighth grade students were provided the option of planning their own literature group. We asked potential leaders to complete a syllabus, project details, and assessments to show they were ready for the task. Based on the completion of these plans, core teachers will choose final literature group leaders this week. Look for a new Literature Sign-Up Survey by the end of this week.Homework Club- now Mondays and Wednesdays
We realized there was a conflict with Homework Club schedule and the amazing Spark offerings on Thursdays. We have changed the Homework Club schedule once again to Mondays and Wednesdays. We have our wonderful interns staffing those two days. We will not be able to host students after schools on Tuesdays due to our meeting schedule. Students should check in with classroom teachers to determine is available to stay on Thursdays.
