LOOKING FOR...

We are seeking copies of March: Book One by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin, Nate Powell for our upcoming literature unit.  March was part of the "District Reads" program last year so your child may have brought a copy home. If you find one on your bookself, we appreciate it if you put your name inside and let us borrow it for the five weeks. Thank you for looking!

GAME  CART DONATIONS

Do you have games on your shelf that aren't being used? Consider donating them to the "Indoor Recess Game Cart" at WCS. Students access the cart when it's below zero, pouring rain, or when the playground is icy. Connect Four, Head-Bandz, Apples to Apples, Pokeman Cards, Exploding Kittens, Throw-Throw Burrito, Spot-It, playing cards, and dice games. Any durable game in good condition that can be played in about 20 minutes. Drop off donations in the front office at WCS, care of "The Indoor Recess Game Cart." Thank you so much for considering!

CVU REGISTRATION

Hi 8th Grade Students,

Attached below you will find a letter from CVU about registering for your 9th grade courses for next year.  The letter provides a link to the registration form, scheduling tips for 9th graders, and important CVU vocabulary.

Please remember the following when registering for classes:
1.  Please discuss 9th grade courses with your parents/guardians.
2. You will need a recommendation for your math and world language classes.
3. You will need to use your cvsdvt.org email address.
4.  You will need your student ID to register.  Your house TA or the WCS Direction Center can give this to you.
5. The deadline for registering is February 19th, so you have plenty of time.
6. We are happy to help you with any questions or issues when registering for your classes.

CVU 9th Grade Letter

Best wishes,
Chris and Danielle

PS Swift 8th  graders should check in with Amanda Laberge regarding math placement. If a student in 8th grade math has been consistently scoring 3s and 4s on unit tests without corrections he or she would be a good candidate for Math 2.  If a student is consistently scoring below a 3 or having to retake assessments, Math 1 may be the right fit.

VTEEN 4-H SCIENCE PATHWAYS CAFE

Teen Science Cafés are informal, interactive programs that promote exploration, curiosity and life-long learning about current and cutting-edge ideas in science and technology. Teens engage in lively discussion and hands on learning with experts. The programs are free to all and organized by teens for teens.

They have three exciting cafes planned for February, March & April! Check them out here!

INDEPENDENT PROJECT OPEN HOUSE

Thank you so much for joining us for the Open House last week.  It was clear that your children take great pride in sharing their work with you!
