Fun Night Sign-Up

The Swift House-sponsored Fun Night is approaching quickly.  We need your help in two ways:

  • Trinkets- We need small toys and trinkets for our prize table.  Anything laying around your house that a K-5th grader might enjoy, send it our way!  Books, pencils, toys cars, action figures, etc.
  • Volunteers- Anyone considering joining us for the NYC trip should volunteer for Fun Night if available.  Click here to sign up.
  • Spread the word among friends:

Theater Festival

Please mark your calendar for our Theater Festival...

6:00 pm on November 14th!

Casts lists have been sent home and rehearsals have started.  Your children have done an incredible job of jumping right into their roles with enthusiasm.

Polar Express

Sunday, December 15th, 11:30-4:00

Swift House has a long tradition in helping with The Polar Express, which raises over $100,000 each year for the Vermont Children's Trust Foundation. Last year we brought 70 elves to the event!

We will meet at the downtown Burlington train station. Shirts and elf hats are provided if needed. Gary Howard, our beloved retired Swift Facilitator, will be the "Santa" on this day.  Please note that we need all elves to stay through the entire shift.

We will send the "Job Description" and "Other Important Details" shown below again in December.  Sign up by October 31st to secure your spot and reserve a shirt.

Curriculum Night

It was wonderful to meet with all who were able to attend our Curriculum Night last week.  We have included the slide show here and welcome you to email your child's core teacher with any specific questions.

FAP Update

Hello all,

For those of you new to Swift House, please allow me to introduce myself.  I am Shelly Masson and I serve as the FAP (Family as Partners) rep for Swift.

As such, I serve as a rep for any issues that you might like to have brought forward to the FAP council.  I also help coordinate the various fundraising events we will do to help offset the costs for the optional spring New York field trip.  If your son or daughter chooses to go on the trip, they will be expected to help with at least three different fundraising activities.

Our first big event is happening on Friday, October 25th with our Halloween themed fun night.  Please use the Sign Up Genius here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F084FA5A923A6F58-funnight  It takes lots of help and many hands to make the evening successful.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Here are the additional dates and information for your planning:

  • Thursday, October 17th – Dining Out for a Cause at Agave (no school on Friday!) – no help needed other than ordering or going out to eat
  • Friday, October 25th – Fun Night
  • Saturday, December 7th – Bottle Drive #1
  • Thursday, March 19th – Grazers Restaurant Dining for a Cause – no help needed other than ordering/going out to eat
  • Saturday, March 21st – Bottle Drive #2
  • Saturday, March 28th – Big Basket Raffle Fun Night

Sign Up Geniuses will be coming for additional events.

****This is also my final year with Swift and I am looking for another parent who might want to take over.  I would love for someone to be able to shadow this year or help with different events.  Please email me if you are interested in learning more.

Below are the notes from the first FAP meeting and additional events that need volunteers as well.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
