Swift House Events- Last Week of School
Open House: Tuesday, June 7th @ 6:30
All students will share their projects (8th Grade Challenge/NYC/Independent Projects). We will start in the auditorium as the 8th Graders give us an overview of their work. This is a good chance to take a load of binders home, too.
Sandbar State Park: Thursday, June 9th, leaving @ 10:00
Swift House will celebrate our 8th Graders with Swift pins and fun awards. We will also grill hotdogs and hamburgers for after swimming and beach activities.
Click here for a copy of the permission slip and
here if you can donate a cooler with ice, beverages or chips.
Home Team
The "Home Team" took part in "
Venture Vermont," a Vermont State Park challenge, this week. The challenge involves completing a wide variety of outdoor activities to earn points towards a free State Park Pass. Students documented their activities on a Google Slide show and will send in their
checklist once they reach 250 points (parent signature required). Our group activities included:
- Identifying native wildflowers
- Identifying types of leaves
- Setting up tents
- Geocaching
- Building and floating boats made of natural materials
- Learning kayaking strokes
- Learning swim strokes
- Fire building
We highly recommend this activity for ALL- check out the
website and
checklist!
