The Swift Flyer
We send the Swift Flyer each week with news from Swift House. We will give you updates on field trips, curriculum, student news and other events relevant to the whole WCS community. Each week's Flyer will be archived on the blog in case you ever need to look back on one. If you have news or ideas for the Flyer please contact Amy Skapof at askapof@cssu.org.Welcome Back!
This week we started up in math classes, signed up for literature groups, read together, got an overview of the Chromebooks and planned for the campout. We also did some team building through group games, such as "Captain's Coming", seen below.
Campout
Thursday & Friday, September 4th & 5th: Swift Campout – We will leave WCS at approximately 9:00 am on the 4th and return in time for the last afternoon class on the 5th. Parents who plan on attending should have their background checks completed. Please check our site group document to check whether or not your are listed as a chaperone by clicking here: Tent Site Groups and Chaperons. Use the "Comment" feature to confirm or correct our information.
You will notice that some groups still need chaperones. We need two adults per site throughout the campout (preferably one full-time chaperone and combined part time chaperons). This means from 10:00am on Thursday until noon on Friday! We will place Swift teachers at sites as needed as a last resort, but we also need to be available to "float" between sites and address any unforeseen circumstances that need our attention. Overnight chaperones do need to have their background check started through CSSU. Contact Liz Neeld for more information at lneeld@cssu.org or at 871-6104.

Early Morning Expectations
1. Swift House opens at 7:30.
2. Between 7:30 and the time the first bus arrives, students are expected to be in Ms. Laberge’s room working on schoolwork or reading silently until their core teacher arrives. They must then ask their core teacher if it is okay to work in their classroom. If not, they should go back to Ms. Laberge’s room.
3. Students may go to the cafeteria to get breakfast and stay there or come back to Swift. It is not ok to wander the halls.
4. Students who cannot meet these expectations will have their parents contacted and will not be allowed to come into Swift House before the first bus arrives. They will need to wait in the front lobby.
